International cadet sailing event on board “Kozara”
The special purpose ship “Kozara” has left the port, starting the international sailing event involving Military Academy cadets’ voyage from Belgrade to Budapest along the Danube.
Members of the River Flotilla Command and citizens of Novi Sad rendered the traditional salute as the ship embarked on its journey.
During the voyage spanning over seven days and covering more than 900 kilometres, the cadets will get the chance to apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in the Military Academy classrooms and labs.
During the voyage between the two countries’ capital cities, the cadets will practice manoeuvring the vessel, carrying out complex tasks requiring piloting and celestial navigation at daytime and night-time and performing various duties within the ship's crew, under the supervision and guidance of professors from the Department of Tactics and Weapons Systems, the Department of Military Mechanical Engineering and experienced leaders from the SAF’s River Flotilla.
