SAF holds 10,000 m obstacle course racing championship
A 10,000 m obstacle course race was held at the Beranovac course near Kraljevo, today. Service members from all components of the Serbian Armed Forces and cadets of the Military Academy competed in the race.
The annual obstacle course racing championship, which was first held last year, aims to promote competitive spirit, fair play and sport in the Serbian Armed Forces.
The 10 km course with 24 obstacles was tackled by the teams representing the General Staff, the Army, the Air Force and Air Defence, the Training Command, the Guard, the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, the 63rd Parachute Brigade, the Special Purpose MP Detachment “Kobre” and the Military Academy.
The Army team won the championship’s team event, the Military Academy team came in second, while members of the 72nd Special Operations Brigade took third place.
Lance Sergeant Slađan Vujašanin from the 5th Military Police Battalion won the individual men’s' event, while the winner of the women’s race was the Military Academy’s Second Lieutenant Aleksandra Manić.
Acting on behalf of the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Head of the Training and Doctrine Directorate (J-7), Brigadier General Muharem Fazlić, presented awards to the winners at a ceremony held in “Ribnica” barracks in Kraljevo.
